meet PAVEL SHATU

BEST KNOWN FOR HIS ROLES IN

Pavel Shatu is a West Siberian-American actor. He is an actor at the Theater of Russian Actors “TRACT” NYC. His late role is Rodion Raskolnikov, the fictional protagonist of Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

Pavel started his acting career on one of the KVN teams, “Region 42”, a popular Russian TV/stage show. He received several Best Actor Awards for his performances as a lead actor throughout his five years on the team. He was also on the stage of the theatre “Lozha”, founded by Yevgeni Grishkovetz and led by Yevgeny Syty

After migrating to the United States in 2010, Pavel graduated from the William Esper Studio in New York City and joined the SAG-AFTRA Union.

He has since been on sets of directors such as Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Barry Jenkins, Erin Feeley and worked with award-winning directors such as Mike Pecci, Andrew Bruntel, and Allison Mattox.

Holding a degree in the engineering of coal mining, Pavel has strong knowledge in the technical field, which gives him extra depth in portraying a passionate professor, hacker, or scientist. Pavel is also an artist having created his unique artwork and brand, ArtPavelShatu, that can be described as modern expressionism. After living in the Czech Republic for several years, Pavel became interested in Russian politics and is looking forward to working in the next Emmy Award series or in any feature as Alexei Navalny’s character.
